Winter 2025: New Airline Routes for Ski and Caribbean Escapes

Exciting Winter Getaways with New Flight Paths

As the winter season approaches, several airlines are rolling out new routes to make travel to popular destinations more accessible than ever. From snowy ski mountains to sun-soaked Caribbean islands, these new flight options cater to a variety of vacation plans. Travelers looking to escape the cold or embrace it will find plenty of opportunities with launches scheduled between November 2025 and March 2026.

United Airlines is set to make history with the first-ever nonstop service from San Francisco (SFO) to Adelaide, Australia (ADL), starting December 11, 2025. Operating on a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner, this route opens up new possibilities for winter travel to the Southern Hemisphere. Meanwhile, closer to home, Spirit Airlines is adding nonstop flights from Fort Lauderdale to Grand Cayman, beginning December 4, 2025, providing an easy gateway to a tropical retreat.

Caribbean Connections and Tropical Destinations

The Caribbean is a focal point for many of these new routes, with airlines like Spirit and Delta Air Lines expanding their networks. Spirit's additional route from Fort Lauderdale to Belize City, operating thrice weekly, offers affordable access to another stunning destination. Delta has also announced multiple new connections, including Atlanta (ATL) to St. Vincent (SVD), alongside routes from Raleigh (RDU) to San Juan (SJU), and several cities to Cancun (CUN), such as Austin (AUS), Nashville (BNA), Kansas City (MCI), and Indianapolis (IND).

Caribbean Airlines is joining the expansion by introducing service to Martinique and Guadeloupe starting December 3 and December 7, respectively. These routes are already open for booking, making it easier for travelers to plan their winter escapes. Additionally, posts on X highlight Porter Airlines' new offerings to Cancun, Puerto Vallarta, Nassau, Grand Cayman, and Costa Rica, further enriching options for a warm getaway.

Beyond the Caribbean, airlines are broadening their international reach. Air Transat, a Canadian carrier, has unveiled 14 new routes for the 2025-2026 winter season, including destinations like Rio de Janeiro, Guadalajara, Valencia, Madrid, and Medellin, with a 6% increase in overall capacity. Eurowings is also expanding its medium-haul network to the Middle East for the Winter 2025/26 schedule, adding new routes to cater to diverse travel interests.

Low-cost carriers are not left behind in this wave of expansion. Wizz Air is significantly growing its presence in Bulgaria by adding a seventh aircraft to its Sofia base, enabling seven new routes by late 2025. Similarly, Allegiant Air joins major U.S. carriers like American, United, JetBlue, and Spirit in launching a series of routes between November 2025 and March 2026, aiming to boost winter travel demand across various demographics.

These developments signal a robust trend in the aviation industry to meet the growing appetite for winter travel. Whether it's a ski adventure in the mountains or a beach holiday in the Caribbean, the array of new airline routes ensures that travelers have more choices than ever to craft their perfect winter escape.
